Gal Costa - Gal, 1969

This bizarre, acid-fueled, jaw-dropping psychedelic freakout is the second of two fantastic self-titled albums recorded in 1969 by super star Brazilian tropicália musician Gal Costa. It's easily one of the greatest psychedelic rock albums ever recorded and is without a doubt my absolute favorite (just barely eclipsing Piper at the Gates of Dawn). With arrangements by Rogerio Duprat of Os Mutantes fame, the album features songs written by Jorge Ben, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and Erasmo Carlos. A great introduction to tropicália.
