Great, go ahead and stick “Bright Eyes” on there and guarantee I’ll be crying in the middle of a pleasant afternoon.
saaaaame! except it turns out the crying happens any old time of day
“Bright Eyes” instantly makes me think of mortality and the unknowability of our animal friends. I gave my dog many caresses after listening.
there’s something about the strange enjambments in the song (“/or is it a dream”) that reminds me of 19th c. art song (Schubert etc.). the song is worthy of that comparison; weirdly the writer’s work seems otherwise undistinguished.
anyway, thanks as usual. this is the best blog.
I’m crying since there’s no download and I would’ve died for some fresh tunes to listen to (this) while cruising to work tomorrow.
download coming soon, stay tuned :}
